Work and Travel FAQ
What level of English is required to participate in the program?
We just want to make sure you have enough English skills to get by in your first days. A conversational level is more than sufficient—about 5-6 on a 10-point scale.
Is it difficult to pass the English interview?
We understand you might be nervous—we’ve been in your shoes a few years ago! That’s why we’ll do our best to create a relaxed environment so you can show your skills without stress. The interview is a simple conversation about general topics: where you study, how you spend your free time, and why you want to visit the U.S. Nothing too complicated, so don’t worry!
Program payment process
After your interview, you’ll need to pay a registration fee of $300 + $35 (SEVIS fee) within a week of the interview. The second part of the program cost is due within a week of receiving your DS-2019 form or job offer (usually between February and April).
Is there any assistance from the IEC while participants are in the U.S.?
Yes! We’ll provide you with a ton of useful information about the country, its laws, and everything you need to know. Plus, you can always reach out to our partners in the U.S. if you encounter any issues.
